Luck has not been on the side of Liverpool youngster Paul Glatzel in recent years.

Serious injuries have threatened to limit the progress being made by the 20-year-old forward at youth level, but he has shown great strength to bounce back on each occasion.

Glatzel rose to prominence during the 2018/19 campaign after his formidable strike partnership formed with Bobby Duncan fired the Liverpool under-18s to FA Youth Cup glory.

His 28-goal campaign was rewarded by Jurgen Klopp, who included the youngster in his pre-season plans and handed him an appearance away to Tranmere Rovers in July 2019.

"A dream come true, which ended as a nightmare" is how Glatzel summed up this experience as he was forced off during the match due to an ACL injury.

It was at Prenton Park where this cruel blow occurred – a ground the striker has become rather familiar with this term.

Glatzel joined Tranmere on a season-long loan back in July and is hoping to play his part in Micky Mellon’s side achieving promotion to League One. Welcome: 'Liverpool ring me every so often' - Striker makes big change on way back to Anfield dream
